Weird Natural Remedies for Hair Care That Actually Work

Apparently, I’ve been spending too much on hair care products — it seems you can get them right in your very own local grocery store at a cheap price! Though they may not be fancy, traditional, or for some, not that appealing – I’m always one to save up money wherever I can! Here are some weird but effective hair remedies you can try at home:

1. Beer

Beer helps your hair look shinier and also gives it volume. According to Dr. Ryan Welter via Fox News, “beer is rich in proteins and vitamins, through the natural barley and hops, it does contain nutrients for helping to develop healthy hair.” Pour it through your hair and rinse through. Bottom’s up!

2. Coffee Grounds

Like beer, coffee grounds can also be used to soften and shine hair. Work a little handful of coffee grounds into hair while it’s still damp, and rinse thoroughly.

3. Raw Egg

Back in the 40s, women used leftover eggs from their kitchen for hair treatment for strengthening and moisturizing purposes. It can also help remove dandruff where needed, and makes it silkier as well. Beat one egg as if cooking scrambled eggs, and apply it into dry hair. Leave it in for 30 minutes, then use your hair conditioner as usual and rinse.
