‘Beef’ Breakout Star Young Mazino to Join Season 2 of ‘The Last of Us’

Fans of “The Last of Us,” “Beef” and just good television get excited! Emmy-nominated actor Young Mazino, most known for his breakout role as Paul in the critically acclaimed Netflix series, just joined the second season of the HBO hit.

While the first season of “The Last of Us” focused mainly on the journey and relationship between Joel Miller (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie Williams (Bella Ramsey), this upcoming season will see the cast of characters expand, with three significant characters playing integral roles within the series’ story. Mazino’s role joins the cast as Jesse, a resident of Jackson, the settlement where Joel and Ellie reside after the event of the first game.

Co-creators Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann spoke on Mazino’s casting in a shared statement. “Young is one of those rare actors who is immediately undeniable the moment you see him,” They said. “We’re so lucky to have him, and we can’t wait for the audience to see Young shine in our show.”

Mazino is the second announcement for this set of characters, with Kaitlyn Dever joining as the role for Abby yesterday. And there’s no doubt fans are anxiously awaiting to see what character is announced next before the season starts filming later this year.
