Netflix’s Live-Action “One Piece” Will Renew For Season 2

The quest to find the One Piece treasure continues with our favorite motley pirate crew! In a special message via Transponder Snail, “One Piece” creator and illustrator, Eiichiro Oda, confirms that Netflix’s live-action rendition will be renewed for another season.

Iñaki Godoy (Monkey D. Luffy,) Mackenyu (Roronoa Zoro,) Emily Rudd (Nami,) Jacob Romero (Usopp) and Taz Skylar (Sanji) will reprise their roles. “From here on, it seems to me the Straw Hats will need a great doctor,” Oda says, foreshadowing the introduction of fan-favorite character, Chopper. Does this newly formed ragtag crew have what it takes to fight off the Marines, find the One Piece, and instate Luffy as the new Pirate King? I guess we’ll have to patiently wait to find out.

Oda also notes that scripts will take some time to develop amid the current backdrop of the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. So, if you haven’t finished season 1 yet, you still have some time — “One Piece” is streaming exclusively on Netflix. Watch Eiichiro Oda’s announcement below.
